01

Our Privacy Commitment

Mighty Notes is a private workspace for your notes, recordings, transcripts, tasks, and AI-organized content. We collect only the data needed to provide the app, sync your notes, authenticate your account, process voice recordings, run AI features, manage subscriptions, and keep the service reliable.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use third-party advertising networks. We do not use your notes for advertising.

02

Data We Collect and Store

Mighty Notes may store the following types of data:

  • Account information, such as your user ID, email address, and display name.
  • Notes, folders, note titles, note content, transcripts, blocks, tasks, categories, timestamps, and note metadata.
  • Voice recordings and audio segments when needed for transcription, sync, playback, or AI processing.
  • Transcription metadata, such as selected transcription engine, language, speaker count, timestamps, and processing status.
  • App preferences, such as default category, structure level, custom vocabulary, custom AI instructions, notification settings, locale, and time zone.
  • Chat messages and AI action requests when you use note chat or AI editing features.
  • Subscription status and App Store transaction identifiers needed to unlock paid features.
  • Usage and operational records, such as AI usage counts, token usage, sync metrics, device tokens for notifications, and error or processing state.
03

Local Storage and Cloud Sync

Mighty Notes stores data locally on your device so the app can work quickly and support offline use. Local data may include notes, folders, preferences, account cache, pending sync operations, and audio files.

When you are signed in and online, Mighty Notes syncs and stores your app data on our backend using Convex. This allows your notes and app state to stay available across supported devices. Data stored on Convex may include note content, transcripts, audio files, folders, preferences, chat history, usage counters, and operational metadata.

04

Voice Notes and Transcription

Mighty Notes uses microphone access only when you choose to record audio. Voice notes may be stored locally and may be uploaded to our backend for sync, playback, transcription, and AI processing.

Mighty Notes supports two transcription paths:

  • On-device transcription uses Apple Speech on your device where supported.
  • AssemblyAI cloud transcription uploads audio for transcription features such as speaker labels, timestamps, and language detection.

Your selected transcription engine determines which path is used. Some workflows may fall back to another supported path if needed to complete transcription.

05

AI Processing

Mighty Notes uses AI to organize, classify, summarize, format, search, append to, and chat with your notes.

To provide these features, Mighty Notes may send relevant note content, transcripts, user prompts, custom vocabulary, custom AI instructions, nearby note context, and metadata to AI service providers through OpenRouter and related model providers. AI output may be stored in your notes, chat threads, usage records, and processing logs so the app can show results, retry failed work, and keep devices in sync.

06

Account, Authentication, and Subscriptions

Mighty Notes uses Clerk for authentication. Clerk may process account identifiers, email addresses, names, session data, and sign-in provider information. If you sign in with Apple, Apple also processes that sign-in according to Apple's policies.

Mighty Notes uses Apple's StoreKit and App Store Server APIs for subscriptions. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We may store subscription status, product IDs, transaction IDs, expiration dates, renewal state, and related App Store notification metadata so paid features work correctly.

07

Notifications and Device Permissions

Mighty Notes may ask for permission to use:

  • Microphone access to record voice notes.
  • Speech recognition to transcribe audio.
  • Camera access to add photos to notes.
  • Face ID or device authentication to protect the app with App Lock.
  • Push notifications to notify you about sync, processing, transcription, or consolidation events.

If push notifications are enabled, Mighty Notes stores device tokens and platform information so notifications can be delivered through Apple's Push Notification service.

08

Data We Do Not Sell or Use for Ads

Mighty Notes does not sell your personal information. Mighty Notes does not use third-party advertising SDKs. Mighty Notes does not share your note content with advertisers.

We may use limited operational data to run the service, enforce usage limits, debug failures, improve reliability, and understand whether AI, sync, billing, and notification systems are working.

09

Third-Party Services

Mighty Notes uses third-party services to operate the app:

  • Convex for backend storage, sync, workflows, server functions, file storage, and app data APIs.
  • Clerk for authentication and session management.
  • Apple services for operating system permissions, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit subscriptions, Apple Speech, device security, and push notifications.
  • AssemblyAI for cloud transcription when that transcription path is used.
  • OpenRouter and model providers for AI organization, chat, embeddings, retrieval, and related AI features.

These services process data only as needed to provide the features they support. Their own privacy policies may also apply.

10

Data Retention and Deletion

Mighty Notes keeps your data for as long as your account is active or as long as needed to provide the app.

You can delete notes in the app. You can also delete your account from the app. Account deletion is designed to remove your Mighty Notes account data from our backend, including notes, blocks, folders, transcripts, audio storage, chat data, AI retrieval data, usage records, sync metadata, notification tokens, and preferences. Clerk account deletion is also requested as part of the account deletion flow.

Some records may remain temporarily in backups, provider logs, security logs, billing records, or operational systems where immediate deletion is not technically possible or where retention is required for legal, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or service integrity reasons.

11

Children's Privacy

Mighty Notes is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Mighty Notes, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

12

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last revised" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
